Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. Stanley Banks. Graduating from Jefferson High School in 1941, she attended her freshman year of college at Southern Methodist University. In 1945, Eleanore graduated from the University of Texas with a LLB law degree and became licensed in both Texas and New York. After practicing for 3 years in New York, she joined her father and brother, Stanley, in their practice in San Antonio. In 1952, Eleanore married her husband of 53 years, Frank Wetherbee Donnelly, and the couple moved to Houston. Devoted to her family, Eleanore lived a long life of loving kindness and grace. She was also a contributing member of the community; actively participating at First Presbyterian Church for almost 50 years with the Joanna Circle and teaching Sunday school. Although she had retired from the full time practice of law, Eleanore continued to volunteer for years and offered her legal services to those in need. She was active in The Junior League of Houston, Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae, and several investment clubs. Eleanore loved gardening, reading, and cooking; but most of all, she loved her family. Eleanore will be remembered for her being a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Eleanore was preceded in death by her parents and by her eldest brother, C. Stanley Banks, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Frank Donnelly; and by her children, Frank Donnelly, Jr. and wife Ellen, Bob Donnelly and wife Dana, and Clare Stratton and husband Steve. She also leaves behind her seven grandchildren, Frank Donnelly III, Laura Donnelly, Katherine Donnelly, Anne Donnelly, Will Stratton, Katherine Stratton, and Ellie Stratton. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Jo Klingeman; and brother, John E. Banks, both of San Antonio.
