Early Life: Delbert was born March 21, 1921, to William Glen and Annie Margaret Thorsted Brown in Ogden, Utah, where he was also raised. Delbert was a member of Ogden High School's first graduating class. He played the coronet in a local dance band called the "3 Ds."

Life's Work | Service | Interests: He attended Weber State College, on a music scholarship, and Butler University. On March 21, 1941, he married Edna Mae Hazen in Ogden, Utah; they enjoyed over 69 joyful years together in home, travel and with family. Together, they resided in Ogden until he volunteered for the Army Air Corps. They traveled together throughout his military training to Indiana, Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma where Delbert received his pilots wings, in medium bombers, as a 2nd Lieutenant. He served in Bakersfield and San Bernardino, California where he trained other pilots on radar operations. After the war, he built their first home in Roy, Utah; and then they resided in Vernal, South Ogden, Denver, CO; Bountiful, Provo, Apache Junction, AZ; Mesa, AZ; and South Jordan. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all his life, Delbert served as Scoutmaster and ward clerk. Delbert was also a Roy City Councilman with responsibility over the city police department. He was active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce and numerous civic clubs. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter and boater; he loved to travel and watch John Wayne movies, a dedicated BYU sports fan, loved the symphony, to dance, eat, and have fun. He and Edna would make friends in all the campgrounds they visited. Delbert retired from Mountain Bell after 43 years of combined service, beginning his career as a switchman in Ogden working the night shift. He rose through the ranks attaining the titles of Chief Switchman, Plant Manager, Commercial Manager and Traffic Manager and District Manager. He managed the conversion from manual switchboard to rotary dial for the Vernal area. He ended his career as a 3rd level manager. Delbert Glen Brown, of South Jordan, Utah, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, passed peacefully from this life September 29, 2013, with family by his side. He was 92.
Survived By: His brother, Jerry Brown (Marva); sons: Val D. Brown ( Anna Lou), Jay Brown; daughter, Jolene Cassatt (Mike); 13 grand children, 47 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
