Prior to making her residence in Ferndale in 1913, Mrs. Korns was a resident of Jenner township, where she was confirmed and a member of Beam's Reformed church. On going to Johnstown, she affiliated with St. Paul's Reformed church and became a member of the Ursinus Bible class and the Ladies Aid Society.
Mrs. Korns is survived by five children: Mrs. Elmer L. Horner and Clarence C. Korns, of Johnstown; Dr. Charles B. Korns of Sipesville, Ernest E. Korns of Hooversville R.D. 1, and Harry S. Korns of Long Beach, Cal. She was preceded in death by one son, Frank E. Korns, former assemblyman from Cambria county, who expired April 13, 1923. Also surviving Mrs. Korns are three sisters: Mrs. Anna Schmucker of Johnstown, Mrs. Emma Blough of Hooversville, R. D. 1, and Mrs. Jane Speicher of Somerset. Fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Brief services will be conducted at the home of the deceased at 1 p.m. Sunday. After this service, the remains will be removed to Beams church, Jenners township, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with interment in Beam's cemetery. The ministers in charge of the services will be the Rev. James S. Carr of St. Paul's Reformed church and the Rev. Kellar Brantley of Beams Reformed church. The following grandsons of the deceased will serve as pallbearers: Donald W. Korns, Eugene E. Korns, Edmund D. Horner, all of Johnstown; Dr. C. Byron Korns of Derry, Clark E. Korns of Portsmouth, O., and Dr. W. Robert Korns of Philadelphia.
