George "Pat" Burke, 85, of Route 3, Oneida, passed away Sunday morning, March 7, 1993, at his home following a brief illness. He was the son of the late William and the late Easter Foster Burke and was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Burke and Jim Burke; four sisters, Rilda Smith, Ellen Slaven, Kizzie Brewster and Lona McCann. Mr. Burke was a member of the Pine Creek Baptist Church for thirty-six years and was also a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Mrs. Irene Crabtree Burke of Route 3, Oneida; four sons, Edward Burke and wife Marion, Arnold Burke and wife Patricia, Darrel Burke and wife Nancy, and Ray Burke and wife Terry, all of Oneida; two daughters, Mary Lou Terry and husband Jesse, and Wilma Harness and husband Jeff all of Oneida; one sister, Lizzie Burchfield of Oneida; twelve grandchildren, Tonja, Jodi, Shannon, Mary, Andrea and Kevin Burke, Renee and Mark Terry, Shelley and Misty Harness all of Oneida, Alison Burke of Knoxville, and Louise Blevins of Memphis; two great-grandchildren, Chris and Nicole Blevins of Memphis; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, at the Pine creek Baptist Church with Rev. Oliver Wolfenbarger of Knoxville and Rev. Keith Marcum of Oneida officiating. The Pine Creek Baptist Church Choir sang. Burial was in the Marcum-Kidd Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Ronald Brewster, Clyde Burchfield, Noble Smith, Harold Brewster, David Brewster, and Ottis Burke. Serving as Honorary pallbearers were: M. C.
