Born in Atlanta, moved to Aruba, Dutch West Indies at age 19. Worked for Standard Oil of New Jersey, locally known as Lago Oil and Transport Company as Head of Colony Services. Was married to Emily Burns in Aruba in 1938. Had two children, Garth and Melissa. Attended Boys High in Atlanta. Later retired to Lake Lanier on the Flowery Branch side. Owned a second home in Lake Worth, FL. Was always an active church member, loved to play golf, enjoyed his friends and was interested in politics. Died at his son's home in WI but came home to Atlanta to be buried.
