Mrs. Mildred Godbee Bailey, age 88, died Wednesday morning at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

The Millen, GA native lived most of her life in Statesboro. She was a graduate of Statesboro High School. Mildred married Jack Bailey, Sr. in 1951. She worked for many years with J.P. Stevens Company and Hines Dry Cleaner. A longtime member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Mrs. Bailey served as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the WMU. She was a member of the Bulloch County Young at Heart.

Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Mike Wilson of Statesboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Jean Bailey of Statesboro; three grandchildren, Hudson Wilson and his fiancee’ Shana Parrish of Statesboro, Sarah Scott of Statesboro and Katelyn Miller of Dallas, GA., three great grandchildren, Jackson Wilson of Vidalia , Fisher Scott of Statesboro and Evan Williams of Statesboro.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00am in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. Byron Twigg officiating.

Interment will be in the Brannen Family Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the deacons of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 5820 Westside Rd. Statesboro, Ga. 30458.

Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory of Statesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
