Wiley Edward Hunnicutt was born January 26, 1931 in Henly, Texas; he was the son of Theodore Franklin and Augusta (Sachtleben) Hunnicutt. Wiley was reared in Wimberley and San Marcos, Texas and attended schools there. In 1953, he joined the United States Marine Corp and received his discharge in 1954. In 1962, he moved to Hennessey where he worked in the oilfied. In June of 1962, Wiley was married to Dixie Clemens in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Hennessey. In 1967, the family moved to Woodward where Wiley worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator and an inspector in the oilfield. In the late 1970's, he started the Hunnicutt Dozer Service, running it until his retirement in the mid-1990's.
He was a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife and soul mate, Dixie Hunnicutt of the home; one son Cody Clemens and wife Wanda of Holdenville; one daughter Scarlett LaNoy and husband Frankie of Yukon; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Theo Hunnicutt and L. J. Hunnicutt both of Granbury, Texas; one sister Norma Garland of Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
