Bessie Reece Barnard, age 102, of Tazewell, Tennessee was born November 23, 1902 and passed away January 7, 2005 at Laurel Manor Health Care.

Bessie was saved at an early age and joined Lone Hill Baptist Church in Tazewell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tyler Barnard; son, James Alvin Barnard; daughters: Launia Barnard and Sallie Davidson; grandson, Bill Davidson; parents: J.N. Reece and LouVernia Johnson Reece; sisters: Etta Coffey, Lizzie Coffey, Laura Hall Lee, Virgie Green, Arkie Reece of Tennessee; brothers: Crate, Earnest and Monroe Reece of Monroe, Mi.

Survivors include her daughters: Bobbie Cleo Reed of Tazewell, Peggy Jo Seals of Monroe, Mi.; sister, Emma Sue Cowan of Bean Station; brother, Earl Reece of Morristown; grandchildren: Carol (Tom) Myers, Sue Goins both of Harrogate, Janie (Tom) Woelmer, Johnnie (Robyn) Seals both of Monroe, Mi.; 8 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; a host of family and friends.

Funeral Services were held 11 a.m. Monday, January 10 at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Cole officiating. Songs by Steve Green of the The Journeymakers. Burial in the Barnard Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Henry Massengill, Tom Myers, Tom Woelmer, Leonard Clark, Steve Green, Jason Davidson, Bill Barnard and Johnnie Seals. Honorary Pallbearers: The Staff of Laurel Manor Health Care.
