Services for Mrs. Ardelia Adanandus are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Martins Mill, with Rev. Lonnie Counnigan officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Martins Mill.

Mrs. Adanandus passed away at the age of 86 on January 22, 2011 in Athens.

Ardelia Sockwell Adanandus was born December 4, 1924 in Martins Mill, Texas to the late George Sockwell and Aslee Pruitt Sockwell. She had been a resident of Martins Mill for 14 years, formerly living in Dallas. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Dallas and Order of the Eastern Star. She worked for the Dallas Veteran's Hospital for 36 years as a medical technician, and loved to sing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenza Adanandus; parents, George and Aslee Sockwell; three brothers, Byron Sockwell, Jeppy Sockwell and James Sockwell; and two sisters, Mattie Lee Watson and Georgia Williams.

Survivors include her brother, George Sockwell of Martins Mill; sisters, Eleanor Ruth Sockwell of Martins Mill, Lexia Sockewell of Martins Mill and Maxine Dorety of Mabank; and a host of nieces and nephews, and other friends and family members.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
