Services for George Marlin Collins were held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2003 in the First Baptist Church, Winnfield, LA with Revs. Lindsey Burns and Dick DeBusk officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Winnfield, LA under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mr. Collins, age 88, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2003 at his home in Winnfield, LA.

Mr. Collins was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield, LA. He was a barber for 65 years and owned and operated the Collins Barber Shop in Winnfield for 42 years. Mr. Collins served as a member of the Winn Parish School Board and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors are his wife Florence Shelton Collins of Winnfield, LA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Shelton and Jackie Collins of Monroe, LA and James Lloyd and Brenda Collins of Bossier City, LA; one daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie Jean and Frank Mobley of Winnfield, LA; one brother, Lloyd Collins of Quitman, LA; one sister, Maggie Howell of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Alan Mobley, Jeanine Ford, Diane Tracy, Stan Collins, Darren Collins and Dana Collins; and 10 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Alan Mobley, Stan Collins, Darren Collins, Glen Ford, James Tracy, Don Causey, Richard Smart and Tommy Harrel, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Mike Smith, Jim Wiley, Gene Porter, Don Walsh and Don Garrett.
