Memorial services for Hubert M. Pittman, 82, Chandler, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at The Arbor, 2215 Roy Road, Tyler. The family requests that family and friends wear casual attire and make donations to The Hospice of East Texas Foundation, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, 75701, in lieu of sending floral arrangements. Local arrangements are with Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors, Tyler.
Hubert was born April 18, 1931, in Lindale to the late Claude and Lois Pittman. He passed away peacefully on Sept. 23, 2013, at The Hospice of East Texas HomePlace.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a personnel manager in the oil and gas industry. Hubert was quite the historian and always remembered birthdays and special dates. He loved to send letters and his thoughtfulness in making his own cards for special occasions will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Virginia Gaulden Pittman; daughter, Sharon Pittman Dengler; siblings, Raymond Pittman, Henry Pittman, and Dell Aaron.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Joe Gentry, of Chandler; son, Curtis Pittman, of Talpa; siblings, Jerry Pittman, Mary McGahey, Troy Pittman, Claudine Pittman Morgan, Patsy Maxwell; grandchildren, Jeremy Dengler, Austyne Pittman, Zack Gentry, Josh Gentry, Jake Gentry, Mike Gentry; and numerous great-grandchildren.
