Greenwood SC - On July 3, 2009 at Hospice House, Vivian slipped peacefully away to join her Heavenly Father and her husband of 67 years, William Joseph "Buddy" Rollins. Her daughters and granddaughters were at her side and encouraged her with much love on her journey. Born April 18, 1918, in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late John William and Sallie Redd Holsonback. Mrs. Rollins graduated from Greenwood High School and was a lifelong resident of Greenwood. Mrs. Rollins belonged to Saint Mark United Methodist Church and was a member of the Proctor Circle. Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca R. and husband J.E. Gabriel of Pickens and Alice Ann and husband, Michael Castengera of Athens; grandchildren Julie Gabriel Ray and husband Greg Ray, Amy Barker and husband Gary Barker, Marisa Castengera, Vivian Castengera and Michael Adam Castengera; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah Ray, Claire Ray, Anna Crews, Allen Crews, Cecillia Barker Grisham, Paige Barker and Ryan-Ann Castengera; and three great-great-grandchildren, Canaan and Aiden Grisham and Vivienne Victoria Threatt. Burial in Oakbrook Memorial Park. Blyth Funeral Home. Athens Banner-Herald, 7/5/2009.
