Harold H. Rodgers, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in his home at the age of 90 years.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing OK and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013 in the General Assembly and the Church of the Firstborn, Cushing, OK. Burial will follow in the Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, OK.

Harold was born May 7, 1923 at Ripley, Payne County, OK, the third of five children to Marshall and Dolly (Pruitt) Rodgers. Harold was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn by Bro. Ace Wells at the age of 17.

On June 6, 1942, he married Amy Carmichael in Cushing, OK They lived in California for a short period of time moving back to a farm south of Cushing, in 1947, living there until Aug 1963 when they moved to Missouri. In 1979 they moved to Enid, OK, worked as a brick mason.

To the union of Harold of Amy nine children were born, eight of which survive him, four sons, Hershel (Karen) Rodgers, Walter (Faye) Rodgers both of Enid, OK; Loyal (Susie) Rodgers of Colorado Springs, Co and Eldon (Jennifer) Rodgers of Mounds, OK: four daughters, Leondra (Dorsey) Stoddard of Bristow, OK ; Coeta (Danny) Godwin, Belva (Eugene) Skinner, both of Cushing, OK and Rucilla (Russell) Davis of Kellyville, OK.

After the passing of Amy in Sept. 2001, he then married Nina Hood of Cushing in 2002 and she predeceased him in Sept of 2011. He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, one sister Emma Lee (Addrien) Smith of Visalia, Calif., a host of other family, brethren and friends.

Preceded in death by parents, wife Amy 1 sister, 2 brothers, 1 infant son Virgil, several half brothers and sisters.

Family will greet friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.
