Born in Havana, Cuba, Angel was the son of the late Jose and Gumersinda (Lopez) Cerra, and was a Bridgeport resident for the past 19 years. He was an employee of Country Home Bakery formerly of Bridgeport and was currently employed as a truck driver for the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include three sisters, Maria Isabel Perez and Olga Alvarez, both of Bridgeport, and Gloria Alvarez of Hamden; one brother, Rafael Cerra of Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Jose Thomas Cerra.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. (Directly) in St. Augustine Cathedral, 359 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604.
