Antonio was 4 when he was kidnapped by his father, Antonio Gaddies Sr., in a custodial dispute on September 2, 2002 from Summerdale, Alabama. Antonia Sr. took Antonio to Detroit, Michigan and they were last seen together there. Later, Antonio Sr. was arrested by police and charged with custodial interference. He was alone and denied any knowledge of his son's whereabouts. Police believed Antonio had been placed in te care of relatives, but in March 2003 his body was found in a vacant lot in Detroit. Antonio Sr. confessed that he his his son in anger and killed him without meaning too. It is not clear if Antonio's kidnapping is related to his murder. Antonio Sr. has been charged with felony murder and as of April 2004, he is awaiting trial.
