HOLLY SPRINGS – Lanell Alderson Barnett, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis. She was born Jan. 9, 1932, in Potts Camp to George Alderson and Myrtle Cook Alderson. She was a nurse and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Holly Springs Funeral Home with Bro. Truman Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Malcolm Barnett of Holly Springs; a son, Jackie Barnett and wife, Lisa, of Oxford; a daughter, Barbara Aldridge and husband, Sammy, of Oxford; a brother, Clyde “Tike” Alderson of Potts Camp; four sisters, Dorothy Declue of Southaven, Mary Jarrett of Potts Camp, Loretta Houston of Holly Springs and Shirley Bell of Hickory Flat; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time today.
