William Treadwell Huddleston, 84, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Signature Health Care in Memphis. He was born April 11, 1929, to John William and Effie Lenora Brotherton Huddleston in Ripley, the third of six children. He attended Shady Grove School. He married Mable Grace Sanderson Huddleston on April 10, 1948. He served his country in both the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Theodore Chandler and in the Air Force Reserves. He was a member of Macon Road Church of Christ for 45 years. He was a retired truckdriver for Signal Delivery and Sears.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Antioch Cemetery in Ripley. Burial will follow. McBride Funeral Home of Ripley is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mable Grace Sanderson Huddleston; a daughter, Linda Long (Jeff) of Memphis; a son, Darrell Huddleston of Memphis; two sisters, Annie Ruth Tally of Millington, Tenn., and Pauline Bennett of Shelby Forest, Tenn.; two brothers, Bobby Huddleston of Michigan City and Eddie Huddleston of Blue Mountain; eight grandchildren, William Darrell Huddlston II (Holly), Lisa Marie Rutledge, Wesley Keith Long, Jonathan Randall Long, Dennena Billings (Kerry), Shawn Huddleston, Shanah Michelle Smith (Shane), Shane Huddleston (Gina); and eight great-grandchildren, Virginia, Henry and Clay Huddleston, Dalton Rutledge (Darrell), Cabel Smith, Pedan and Landen Billings (Steve) and Dillion Huddleston (Jimmy).

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jimmy Dale and Michael Steve Huddleston; and one sister, Virginia Bennett.
