MRS. MELVINA CHARETTE
Northampton, April 3 - Mrs. Melvina (Gagnon) Charette, 92, widow of George Charette, died last night in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank LaPrise, in Winchendon. Born in Canada, she resided in Northampton many years before going to live with her daughter eight years ago.

She leaves four daughters, Mrs. LaPrise, Mrs. Arthur Pichette of Northampton, Mrs. Mederic Vigneault of Springfield and Mrs. Eva Cote of Gardner and six sons, Edmund and Louis of Northampton, Edward of South Hadley Falls, Albert of Holyoke and George and Alfred in Canada. The funeral will be at the A. J. Brunelle funeral home in Holyoke at 8:15 Thursday, with a solemn high mass of requiem in St. Patrick's Church, South Hadley Falls, at 9. Burial will be in St. Rose's Cemetery, South Hadley. END.

According to her son's obituary in 1955, Malvina had three sons living: Albert of Northampton, Edward of South Hadley Falls, and Edmund of Bay State (a section of Northampton); she had three married daughters living in 1955, namely: Mrs. Elvina Pichette of Northampton, Mrs. Laura Laprie of Winchendon, and Mrs. Bedelia Veal of Springfield.
