Mars Hill - Elva M. Wilson, 90, passed away January 31, 2024, at Northern Light Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. She was born November 19, 1933, in Shirley, Maine, the daughter of Wilmont and Della (Nye) Rideout. She worked various seasonal jobs and in housekeeping at the Mid-Town Motel.
Our dear mother peacefully left her earthly body to enter into her Savior's Presence that she longed for. She was a wonderful mother, Grammy, and friend, who was always there for a prayer, a hug, a recipe or just a cup of tea and conversation. She will be greatly missed by all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grammy will be especially missed by her first grandson and "her little doll," Hudson Bradbury, who shared her love of cooking. Special thanks to her church family, the Mars Hill Full Gospel Assembly, The Mars Hill Nursing Home, The Hospice of Aroostook and her special CNA and great-granddaughter, Kassie, for her attentive care and love.
Elva is survived by her children, Donna Wilson of Rumford, RI, Darrell Wilson and his wife, Rita, of Mars Hill, Shelley McIntyre of Florida, Tammy Mahaney and her husband, Garnet, of Gardnerville, NV, and Janet Bradbury and her husband, Wayne, of Bridgewater; her grandchildren, Hudson Bradbury, Danielle Brewer (Jason), Carissa Henderson (Adam), Heidi Wilson, Richard Wilson II, David Strauss (Danielle) and Amanda Ricker (Derek); her great-grandchildren, Kassidy Jo Brewer, Trey Brewer, Chase Henderson, Cheyenne Henderson, Anthony Elijah Wilson-Scofield, Savanah Ricker, and Sierra Willow Ricker; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Wilson; a son, Richard; a special uncle, Russell Rideout; brothers, Hubert, Arroll, Millard, Cecil, Ashley Leo, Thomas, and Joseph; and two sisters, Rosalie and Bernice.
Relatives and friends may call at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at Full Gospel Assembly in Mars Hill where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with the Reverends Richard Bell, Mark Carter, and Wesley Faloon will be officiating. Spring interment will be at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bowers Funeral Home in Presque Isle. Online condolences may be shared at bowersfuneral.com.
