Joan B. (Wosniak) Fritz, of Linden, N.J., died on Saturday, October 13, 2007,in the Mount Siani Hospital, New York City.

Born in Elizabeth, N.J., she was a lifelong Linden resident. Mrs. Fritz was employed by the Board of Education, City of Linden, for over 30 years, working in Mcmanus Middle School, Soehl Middle School and Elementary School No.4, retiring in June 2006.

Mrs. Fritz graduated from Kean University in Union, N.J., where she received her bachelors and masters degrees in education.

She was a member of the Deutsche Club of Clark, N.J.; member of the Guidance Counselors Association of Union County; the New Jersey Education Association; and the Linden Education Association; and the Linden Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by a son, James B. Fritz.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, John P. Fritz, Sr.; son Dr. John P. Fritz Jr., and his wife, Cherie, Westfield, N.J.; sister Doris Liebman, New York, N.Y.; brother Bernard Wosniak, Linden, N.J.; grandchildren Jessica, James and Samantha; and seven nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church of Linden at 10:30 a.m. Interment wil be in the Hazelwood Cemetery, Clark, N.J.

Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Ave., New York City, NY 10021; or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 116 South Euclid Avenue, Westfield, NJ.
