Active in her community, Mrs. Nicholson was a member of the Junior League of Jackson and Mississippi Museum of Art Gallery Guild. She was a longtime docent at the Old Capitol Museum of Mississippi History and a weekly volunteer at Methodist Rehabilitation Center for more than 25 years. In 1995, she was recognized among Jackson's Outstanding Volunteers by Mississippi Goodwill Industries. Mrs. Nicholson also enjoyed lasting friendships through a number of club memberships that included the Gourmet Club, High Noon Luncheon Club, Monday Club, and Pleiades Study Club. She was blessed with a gentle, caring nature and generosity of spirit that quietly touched many people throughout her lifetime.
