Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Grove Hill Funeral Home with David Tarbet, minister of White Rock Church of Christ, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Bolivar Cemetery in Bolivar.
Mrs. Dosier was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born in 1909 in Denton County to W.R. and Mattie Amyx, she grew up in Denton and Cooke counties. Her adult life was spent in Dallas, Grapevine, Rhome and Canyon. She graduated from Gainesville High School and North Texas State College, and she taught school in Spring Grove, Coppell and Grapevine schools.
She experienced the great technological advances of the 19th century. In May 1937, she married Charles Clyde Dosier and they celebrated 51 years of marriage. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ having worshipped in several congregations in the Dallas, Wise and Randall county area. She loved quilting, gardening, cooking, sewing, crocheting and Bible reading. Many profited by her generosity and philanthropy.
Survivors include two daughter, Connie Burgoon and husband, Bob, of Canyon and Paula Tarbet and husband, David, of Dallas; eight grandchildren, Jim Bob Burgoon of Lubbock, Bill Burgoon and Andrew Burgoon, both of Canyon, David Paul Tarbet of S. Yarmouth, Mass., Amy Duncan of Ruidoso, N.M., Timothy Tarbet of New Milford, Conn., Joanna Hale of Oak Ridge, N.C., and Judith Mayerhofer of Lewisville; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Alberle Amyx of Kemp; a sister, Edith Porter of Bedford; and a number of nieces and nephews.
