Marguerite May Moore

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. — Marguerite May Moore, age 79, of Apache Junction, AZ, formerly of Mattoon, IL, passed away at 12:03 a.m., December 7, 2009 at the Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, AZ.

A graveside service in her honor will begin at Noon, Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Arcola Township Cemetery with Reverend Lane Ashley officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938.

Mrs. Moore was born November 18, 1930, the daughter of Bert and Eila Marie (Barnes) Cutting. She married Howard E. Moore on January 3, 1951, in Mattoon, IL. He passed away August 22, 2006.

Survivors include her children, Micheal Moore and wife Sandra of Hazelwood, MO, Harold Moore and wife Katherine of Mattoon, IL, Richard McQuitty of El Paso, TX, and Susan Prichard and husband Dale of Apache Junction, AZ; three brothers, Harry Cutting and wife Dorothy of Riverside, CA, Carroll Cutting and wife Mary of Mattoon, IL and Malin Cutting of Sullivan, IL; seven grandchildren, Kevin Moore and wife Shelly of Fenton, MO, Rodney Moore and wife Bridget of Florissant, MO, Mary Jean Taylor and husband David of Arthur, IL, Nicole Kerber and husband Clifford of Atwood, IL, Myra Hudson of Mattoon, IL, Eric Helzing and wife Diane of Montgomery, IL, and Dana MacDonald and husband Michael of Montgomery, IL. She leaves fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Mrs. Moore was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. She was a bookkeeper with her own business, Moore's Bookkeeping, until retiring in 2003. She enjoyed camping, spending time with friends, and the company of her pets.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary Area Scholarship Fund, 1917 Oak St., Mattoon, IL, 61938 or a charitable organization of the donor's choice.
