According to the pension application (S2345) of George Allen as presented in 1832 at age 89, George Allen served as a private in the North Carolina Militia under General John Butler and was awarded a Revolutionary War Pension for his service.
In the application, he stated: "He was born in the year 1744 in Hanover County Virginia. He was living in Wake County at the time he entered the Service & remained there till about the year 1800 when he removed to Iredell County, and lived there ever since"
Married: Lucretia Reaves.
Moved: to Wake Cty NC after marriage ca 1794. Moved: to Iredell/Alexander in 1797.
Built first cabin near Rocky Face Mt and buried in Allen Cemetery per Alleghany County NC Hist book
