Located about 100 yards northeast of the Geo Bowman Garrad Co Ky house is a marble obelisk. On the obelisk are the names of 13 persons assumed to be buried in the immediate area. Included are the matriarch, Sarah Bowman (died 1839), Sallie RoBards Bowman (the wife of George Bowman; died 1858), two related adults, and 9 children and grandchildren. The last buried there was George and Sallie Bowman's daughter, Sallie E. Bowman (married first to a Harrison and then to George Williams). She died in April 1858.
Charles Edwin Bowman born in 1817 and Sallie E. Bowman (1830) had heirs and were the only children to survive their mother's death in January 1858.
