He was born on March 7, 1940, and was a son of the late Bob Hilton Nicholson and Ida Mae Sisk Nicholson.
On May 7, 1960, he married the former Mary Lou Fristoe, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Cindy Burke and husband Tim Burke, and Terrisa Hilliards and husband Carson Hilliards; a son, Stacy Nicholson and wife Erin Nicholson; two brothers, Eppie Hunter Nicholson and Milton Nicholson of Culpeper; a sister, Betty Clark of Culpeper; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Nicholson; and two sisters, Hilda Hoffman and Ila Nicholson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary Nicholson.
Burial will be in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
