Services for Wilbur "Rusty" Biesemeyer, 58, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Shumway's Lakeshore Chapel, 1815 S. Dobson Road in Mesa. Mr. Biesemeyer died Sunday, Oct. 14, 1984, at Pyle Memorial Hospital in Payson. He was born in Marshall, Mo., and lived in Arizona for 44 years. At the time of his death, he lived in Gisela near Payson. He was founder of Biesemeyer Boat Co., pioneers in the flat-bottom boat industry. He was a leader in the American Power Boat Association, and his boats hold many records in the APBA racing circuits and several world records. Mr. Biesemeyer started the company in 1958 and was known throughout the country as the founder and designer of Biesemeyer Boats. Survivors include his wife, Jean of Gisela; a son, Michael of Mesa; a brother, William of Mesa; a sister, Vera Hayter of Independence, Mo; and two grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Interment will be at East Resthaven Cemetery.
