James Robert Love of Okeechobee passed away August 30, 2013 in Fort Pierce, FL. He was born September 6, 1929 to Clyde and Annie Love.

Mr. Love proudly served our country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He was a long time resident of Miami Lakes, FL then relocated to Danville, KY and came to Okeechobee from Danville, KY in 2001.

He graduated from Berea College and Eastern Kentucky University and received his Masters from Florida Atlantic University. He taught at Miami Jackson High School and Hialeah-Miami Lakes High School. He was a very active member of Oakview Baptist Church and a member of the Gideons. He was a life member of V.F.W. and D.A.V.

Mr. Love was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Sue Green and Faye Tipton; and two brothers, Ray Love and Lawrence Love.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie Ruth Love; two sons, James Kenneth Love (Diane) of Okeechobee and Keith Robert Love of Cutler Bay; daughter, Sandra Ruth Cunningham (Craig) of Flagler Beach; brother, Charles Love of Schertz, TX; seven grandchildren, Dawn, Jennifer M., Matthew, Maggie, Kristina, Russell and Jennifer C.; and five great-grandchildren, DJ, Sarah, Summer, Annie and Adrienne.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at Oakview Baptist Church, 677 SW 32nd Street, Okeechobee, FL with Rev. Dr. John Garrison officiating. Interment will be at 1:45 p.m. at South Florida VA National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gideons International.
