James "Jim" Presley Green, Jr.

Jim Green, 84, of Hillsboro passed away August 17, 2017 in Hillsboro. He was born November 27, 1932 in Peoria to Minnie Ella (Gebhardt) and James Presley Green, Sr.

He was raised in Hill County and was a 1951 graduate of Hillsboro High School, where he served as class president. From 1955-1957 he served his country in the United States Army. On August 16, 1957 Jim was united in marriage to Letha “Tiny” Johnson and she preceded him in death on October 11, 1999.

After working for Robinson Gin for over six years he became a farmer and rancher until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his pet companion “Sally” whom he loved very much. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

Also preceding him in death were his parents; son, William Henry Green on December 20, 2016; grand daughter, Lauren Marie Watts on March 24, 1988 and great-grand daughter, Kennedy Green on February 3, 2017.

Survivors include his children, James Green, Donna Watts, Jackie Green and Mary Green, fourteen grand children and twelve great-grand children.

Funeral services will be held August 20, 2017 in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. M_M
