Louisa Frances Rankin (My Great-Great Grandmother) was born Oct. 13, 1830 in Logan, Kentucky. Louisa was the 5th child born to her parents which were Jesse W Tipton and Elizabeth Ann Ashley. Louisa lived in Kentucky until sometime before 1838 where her brother, John R. Rankin was born in Lafayette, Missouri. She was later found in the 1850 US Federal Census as living there as well. It was also in Lafayette, Missouri where she met and married James A. Tipton on March 27, 1853. (Source: Missouri Marriage Records, Lafayette, Missouri, Ancestry.com)
