Obituary of LaVerne Chandler Bernard-Kral

"LaVerne passed away April 18, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Reno, Nevada. LaVerne was born in the same hospital on September 16, 1912 to Joseph and Inez Anderson.
She married George C. Chandler and they had a daughter and a son. After George's death in the line of duty as a Nevada Highway Patrol Officer in 1948 she worked as a bookkeeper for Hancock & Hancock Construction Company. Years later she worked as a bookkeeper and sales clerk for Hatton‘s Men's Store.
In 1959 she married D.K. (Barney) Bernard and they worked together at Hatton's for many years until her retirement. Years later, after the death of D.K. Bernard, she married Victor Kral a prominent figure in Nevada Mining. LaVerne was very active in the Reno BPW club and served as President. She also belonged to Twentieth Century Club and the University Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and her daughter, Marvella Lokke. She is survived by her son, John Chandler and daughter-in-law, Pat Chandler; grandchildren, Paige Chandler and her husband, Kevin Wapner, David Chandler and his wife, Maureen, Jill Brantly, T.J. Lokke and his wife, Victoria, Jerry Lokke and his wife, Michon, Mary McDougal and her husband, Mike; great- grandchildren, Devonshire, Tara, Colton and Trenton Lokke, Amy McDougal, Jerry and Sean Lokke, Natalie and Drury Chandler, Cameron and Kendall Wapner.
There will be a private family memorial. Walton‘s Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements."
