POQUOSON - Elizabeth Ferguson Parker, 90, a native and lifelong resident of Poquoson, went home to be with her family, friends and Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2005. She retired in 1980 from the Newport News Dress Company as a seamstress, and was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Parker. She is survived by her son, Clarence Terry Parker; a daughter, Linda J. Barnes, and husband, Warren; four grandchildren, Terry D. Miller and wife, Lynn, Sherri L. Firman and husband, Terry, Tracey E. Redman and husband, Bob, and Kimberly D. Major and husband, David; six great-grandchildren, Eric and Danielle Firman, Justin Miller, Carter and Travis Redman, and Alissa Major; a sister-in-law, Norine Parker; special friends, Carolyn Leeson, Lillian Pelesz, and Evelyn Parker; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 64 Rens Road. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Tabernacle United Methodist Church by the Rev. O.H. Burton and the Rev. Milford C. Rollins. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 895 Middle Ground Blvd., Suite 154, Newport News, VA 23606. A special thank you to the Rev. Milford Rollins and wife, Maxine, and to all the family and friends who so lovingly cared for her during her illness.
