Mrs. Abby Beals, died at the residence of her son, Ebenezer Beals, in Birdsall Street, Sunday. She had attained the ripe age of 78 years. Mrs. Beals was born in Bennington, Vt., in 1813. Her maiden name was Abby Rider. In 1850 she and her husband took up their residence in Norwich in the house where the reminder of her life was passed. There were born to her four children, two of whom are now deceased and two survive-Albert Beals, of Sioux City, Ia., and Ebenezer Beals, of this village. Her husband died 1876. She was a home loving and a home cherished wife and mother, a conscience Christian, and leaves a memory that will be a blessing to her children and grandchildren in all the years to come. Her funeral was attended Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. W.H. Scudder officiating. Interment in Mt Hope.
