Margie Pauline "Polly" Reichelt Carter, age 90, of Plano, Texas and formerly of Houston, died Friday, August 30, 2013, at Plano Medical Center.

Graveside services will be 1pm Thursday, September 5,2013 at Antioch Cemetery in Buna, Texas with Reverend Bill Magee officiating. Visitation will be 11:30am to 12:30pm at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna located at 34490 Hwy 96 South.

"Polly" was born in Bessmay, Texas on October 24, 1922.

After she graduated from Buna High School, she attended Lamar in Beaumont, Texas where she met the love of her life, Bob Carter, whom she married in 1942. Polly worked administratively at the shipyards in Beaumont during World War II. When Bob returned from serving in the South Pacific, they lived in College Station, Texas until he graduated from Texas A&M and returned to Beaumont.

Polly completed her education at Lamar Tech in 1961 and began a 25 year career teaching first grade in Beaumont and Clear Creek schools.

Polly was a long time Sunday School teacher in the Baptist churches where she and Bob attended. She was a true prayer warrior and faithful friend to so many who will dearly miss her.

Polly is survived by her children Kay Carter Daigle and husband Gary of Plano and Kim Carter Ward and husband Don of Beaumont, grandchildren, Lindsay Daigle Williamson and husband Tyler of Los Angles, California, Matt Daigle of Dallas, Texas, Paul Lytle and wife Josie of Houston, Texas Jill Lytle Wilson and husband Jared of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and great-grandchildren Campbell Williamson and Christian Lytle.
