Albert Conklin
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Treadway and Wigger Funeral Chapel for Albert A. Conklin, 92, of 221 Fairview Drive, who died Saturday morning at the Silverado Convalescent Hospital.
A native of Stockville, Neb., Mr. Conklin moved to Vallejo in 1890, following the death of his mother, and attended Vallejo schools. Upon graduation from school, he and his brothers, Tom and John, traveled through the West and northwestern part of the country and as far east as Nebraska.
Mr. Conklin lived for a while in Cederville in Modoc County and moved to Napa in 1942. He worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo until 1949 when he retired on disability. He was married to the former Fannie Victoria Carlow, who died in 1955. Mr. Conklin enjoyed gardening until he was hospitalized.
Mr. Conklin is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Aliene Enloe of Napa; three sons, Dalton C. Conklin of Napa, Oscar Conklin of Adrian, Ore. and Gale Conklin of Kelseyville; two sisters, Lora Moskos of Vallejo and Mary Crowley of Forrest Hills, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bishop Clair Black of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints will conduct the services. Pallbearers will be Ross Moser, Roy Altman, Lloyd Qualls, Les Wilson, Francis Mason and Briant Wooley.
Burial will take place at Tulocay Cemetery.
