David was married to Joanna Lemon,
on Jan. 16, 1861, in Berrien Co. MI.
Four children included:
Edward Ellegood Evans (who owned
the General Store in Hinchman),
D. S. Freemont Evans (who became a
judge in St. Joseph, Michigan),
Laura M. Evans, and Fred E. Evans.
David taught at the Hinchman School.
He was one of their first teachers,
and began teaching in Dec. 1859.
d. June 16, 1920, in St. Joseph,
Berrien County Michigan.
Buried: Salem Cemetery, Berrien Co. MI
(in Block O, Lot 77, Space 1).

Journal Era" newspaper, on June 17, 1920,
