Aaron Hamblin
October 20, 1942 - August 30, 2013

Aaron Hamblin, 70, husband of Linda K. Hamblin, died Friday, August 30 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

Born at Krypton, in Perry County on October 20, 1942, he was the eldest of nine children to the late Walter and Ruby Milam Hamblin. Aaron graduated from Buckhorn High School in 1960, Caney Creek (Alice Lloyd) College in 1962, and earned his degree from the University of Michigan Dearborn in 1992. He had served in the U. S. Air Force for two years and was honorably discharged in 1964 at which time he returned to eastern Kentucky to care for his newly widowed mother and five siblings still at home.

He later returned to Michigan to work for Chrysler Corporation and retired in 1999. He was married to Linda Wooten on June 28, 1970. In 2001, he and Linda settled in Versailles, KY where he became a member and Deacon at Versailles Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. Aaron was an active member and President of the Woodford Habitat for Humanity.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of 43 years, include his daughter Dawn M. (Dr. Benjamin) Ramirez of Flint, MI, his son, Darren A. Hamblin of Louisville, his grandchildren, Andrew B. Ramirez of Flint, Benjamin F. (Stephanie) Ramirez of Grand Blanc, MI, Nicolas F. Ramirez of Ypsilanti, MI, two great grandchildren, Isaiah and Noah Ramirez, three sisters, Irma (Doyle) Loudin of Dayton, OH, Martha (Don) Hargis of Lexington, Myrtle (Cisco) Fugate of Chavies, KY, four brothers, Ader (Ruth) Hamblin of Hyden, KY, Amos (Deb) Hamblin of Chavies, KY, A. J. (Pat) Hamblin of Krypton, KY, Devon (Donna) Hamblin of Nicholasville, KY eleven nieces and nephews, fifteen great nieces and nephews, and three great great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Hamblin.

Visitation is from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 1 at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home and again after 10:00 a.m., Monday at Versailles Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 2 at Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. John Brandon officiating.

Interment will be 4:00 p.m., Monday at the Milam Cemetery in Perry County.
