Sara Abernathy Green, 91, a long time resident of Texas City, Texas, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 in Lufkin, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Texas City. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Emken-Linton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Green was born May 15, 1920 in Pulaski, Tennessee. She was a homemaker. She was a 60-year member of the First United Methodist Church in Texas City, she worked for T.C.I.S.D. and was a member of the Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Grady O. Green.

Survivors include her sons Ron and wife, Marilyn, of Corrigan, TX and David and wife, Carmen, of Santa Fe, TX; daughters; Linda Burke and husband, John, of New Bern, North Carolina and Lou Ann Stebbins and husband, Mark, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Texas City.
