Mary had two husbands; Mr. Lyon and Samuel Lobdell. She had one child, Anne E., with Mr. Lyon. She had two children with Samuel Lobdell; Augustus and Gilbert.

"Romulus - Dr. C. C. Wyckoff and wife, of Buffalo, John P. Vail, of Geneva, Augustus Lobdell, of Chicago, Gilbert Lobdell, of Flint Creek, attended the funeral of Mrs. Mary A. Lobdell here last Saturday." (May 4, 1889, the Farmer Village Review)

"Romulus - Although Mrs. Mary A. Lobdell, wife of Samuel Lobdell, had been in poor health a long time, still her death on April 25th was a severe shock to her many friends. She has suffered a long time from asthma, but latterly her paroxysms and cough have been far more severe, and have told upon her strength. She has been an active, ambitious, systematic woman, useful at home and in public duty. Born in this town in January, 1808, and she has always lived in this vicinity. Twice married, her last husband survives her. She was the mother of Miss A. E. Lyon, and of Augustus and Gilbert Lobdell. Her maiden name was Wyckoff, and she was a sister of Dr. C. C. Wyckoff, of Buffalo, Mrs. Hogan and Mrs. Brownell, of Chicago. At the early age of 15, in 1823, she united with the Presbyterian church of this place, and has always been a faithful, consistent member. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. W. Jacks, on Saturday afternoon from her late residence." (April 30, 1889, The Ovid Independent)
