Vermay was born on April 22, 1924 in the town of Brillion, daughter of the late Phillip and Laura Bastian. She was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1942. On March 22, 1947, she married Willard E. Boettcher. She and Willard farmed for many years together. They were also members of the Rural United Methodist Church in the town of Brillion and recently Zion United Methodist Church in Forest Junction. Vermay also enjoyed cooking, canning, and spending time with her family.
Vermay is survived by her husband of 65 years, Willard; one son and daughter-in-law: David and Deb Boettcher of Brillion; two grandchildren: Christopher "Chris" (Terri) Boettcher and Carrie (Ray) Braden all of Brillion; two great-granddaughters: Lindsey Boettcher and Kendra Braden; one sister: Bernice Tamm of Brillion; the family dog: Rebel; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by their son Donald in 2000, her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Lydia and Emil Boettcher; two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Leroy (Vera) Bastian and Frebert (Roma) Bastian; and one brother-in-law: Delton Tamm.
Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion. Officiating will be the Rev. Becky Kindshi with burial to take place on Monday in the Brillion Town Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m.
