ARNOLD LOWE DIES AT COUNTY HOSPITAL

Arnold Alma Lowe, 30, son of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Lowe, Jr. and father of four small children, passed away at the county hospital on Monday after an illness of several weeks. Tubercular pneumonia is given as the direct cause of death thought there were other contributing factors.

Arnold hasn't been in good health for a number of years, but had managed to go about his work until a few weeks ago when a horse fell with him and injured one of his legs. Even then he continued to work for a number of days until he finally had to give up and go to bed. Then he was taken to the hospital, presumably with nothing immediately wrong with him except the leg, though a pleurisy contiion from which he had suffered was still bothering him.

Bur during the time he was in the hospital he developed pneumonia. The attending physician felt that he was getting the upper hand of the pneumonia, however, and his family had begun to get quite hopeful of his recovery. Even Monday morning he seemed to be feeling better, but a short time later his parents received word that he had passed away. He had had pneumonia following influenza a number of years ago, and his mother thinks that his lungs were permanently injured at that time.

Funeral service was held for the deceased on Wednesday afternoon at the West Ward chapel with Bishop H.L. Adams presiding. The choir under the direction of Mr. Peterson sang three numbers, Walter C. Mitchell and Barbara M. Adams were the speakers, L.J. Adams sang a solo, the opening prayer was offered by Thomas H. Rowley and the closing one by David Matheson.

The speakers paid tribute to the industry and the other splendid attributes of the deceased and offered words of hope and comfort to the bereaved family. Mrs. Adams also read sentiments written by Maude Lyman for the occasion. The final resting place at the cemetery was dedicated by Alvin Benson.

The deceased was born on January 1, 1902, in this community. He was married August 21, 1924 to Neita Stapley, and to them have been born four children, two boys and two girls. He was an industrious citizen, and kind and loving husband and parent. His widow and the four children survive him as well as his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Lamont, Elmer, Mrs. Mildred Gilger, Mrs. Glenna Thompson, Lorna, Mariam, Ila and Thora Lowe of Parowan and Mrs. Gladys Grater of Colorado. The latter was unable to be here for the funeral.

To the bereaved family, and particularly to the widow and children, the sympathy of the community goes out at this time.
