Anna Bruce Gabhart Settles, 78, of Lexington, formerly of Washington County, died at 5
a.m., Friday, dec. 5, 1997 at the Hospice of the Bluegrass Care Center in Lexington.

A native of Washington County, she was born on May 13, 1919 to the late
Thomas and Matilda Devine Gabhart.

She was a member of the Southern Acres Christian Church, a retired bookkeeper
and a graduate of Mackville High School.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Marvin Scott Settles, on Aug. 2,
1964; two brothers, George Gabhart and Roy Gabhart;
and three sisters, Dora Shewmaker, Bea Terflinger and Lillian Hale.

Survivors include one son, Steve Settles of Lexington; two daughters, Sue Collins of Houston, Tex. And Mrs. Timothy (Lu) Young of Lexington; six grandchildren, Tom Settles, Shannon Settles, Marsha Mobley, Tyler Young and Natalie Young; two greatgrandchildren, Michael Mobley and Caitlin Mobley; and one brother, Winfield
Gabhart of Mackville.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 8 at the Carey & Son
Funeral Home with Bro. Wally Rendel, minister of the Southern Acres Christian
Church, officiating.
Burial was in the Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
Serving as pallbearers were Tom Settles, Tyler Young, Everett Young, Mike Young, Barry Young and Leland Terflinger.
