"Carol Kay Stoops, Boise, passed away on August 23, 2013 at St. Alphonsus Hospital. She was 73 years old. At Carol's request, no funeral service will be held. Inurnment will take place at Morris Hill Cemetery, Boise, Idaho under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.

Carol was born at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho, on May 5, 1940, the second of two children of Carl E. and Olivia "Billie" (Phelan) Stoops. A lifelong Boise resident, she attended Boise schools -- Park, Whittier, North Junior High and Boise High School, graduating in 1958. Following graduation Carol began a career with Idaho Power Company, retiring in 1996 after 38 years of service.

Carol was a Life Member of Beta Sigma Phi, and a former long-time member of the Professional Secretaries Association (now IAAP) as well as a past member of The Daughters of the American Revolution and the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century. Her hobbies included reading, counted cross stitch, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and knitting (she especially enjoyed knitting caps and booties for the NICU at St Luke's). Carol enjoyed traveling and visited several different countries.

Carol is survived by her brother, Richard Stoops of Boise; niece, Julie Gaylor of Vancouver, Washington; nephew, Robert Stoops of Vancouver, Washington; nephew, Brian Stoops of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; aunt, Ruby Stoops Oliason of Boise, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Carl in 1989 and her mother Billie in 2000, as well as Rainbow, Fuzzy, Peachy, and Emerald her beloved pet birds.

It is Carol's wish that any memorials be made to the Mountain States Tumor Institute, 100 W. Idaho, Boise, Idaho, or to a charity of your choice . "
