Mary was the daughter of Jeremiah and Rebecca Handwerk Peters of Pennsylvania. Her first husband was Alfred Blair Fuller whom she married on 20 February 1858 in Wood County, and they had George and William. After Alfred's death in the war (burial in Floyd County, Indiana), she married Israel Snyder on 28 April 1871 in Wood County, and they had three children, Nettie, Ada, and William, with two surviving. Mary died from arterio-sclerosis at the age of 80 years 5 months and 12 days.
