ROBERT EDGAR "EDD" STANLEY SR. was the son of William H. Stanley and Mrs. Mary I. Miller Stanley.

He was the brother of Ora Liles Stanley, Plumah Stanley, Will Henry Stanley and Perry Stanley.

He was the husband of Mrs. Lillie Edna Lenora (Findley) Stanley whom he married on January 16, 1917 in Cherokee County, Texas.

He preceded his wife in death.

Upon his passing, he was laid to rest on November 10, 1978 on the grounds of Old Palestine Cemetery in Alto, Texas.

"Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lillie Edna Stanley, of Alto; two sons, Rayford Curtis Stanley, of Port Arthur, and Robert E. Stanley, of Jefferson; one daughter, Ruth Evelyn Schaeffer, of Alto; two brothers, Will Henry Stanley, of Alto, and Perry Stanley, of Rusk; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren."
