On September 15, 1963, she was united in marriage to Lyle Helle. Lyle died in August of 1970. Joan then married Merlin Holtz on March 25, 1978, at the Little Brown Church. She held numerous jobs but mainly loved being a homemaker, mother and grandmother, taking beautiful care of her home, antiques and lawn.
Living family members include her husband, Merlin Holtz of Floyd; a daughter, Kim (Jim) Winters of Bartlesville, OK; a grandson, Cody Winters of Bartlesville, OK; two step sons, Robert (Pam) Holtz of Charlotte, NC and Kenneth Holtz of Denison; a step daughter, Dixie (Paul) Phillips of Floyd; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; her mother, Violet Corbin of Oelwein; two sisters, Cheryl (John) Ransom of Oelwein and Diane (Jim) Turner of Sandia Park, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her father and first husband.
