Karen A McCargar, 72, of Ankeny passed away peacefully March 17, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home.
Karen was born in Marshalltown, Iowa June 8, 1940. She grew up in State Center, Iowa and graduated from the State Center High School in 1958.
She then went to work in the insurance business in Marshalltown, Iowa where she worked until her retirement in 2006. She was with Independent Insurance Services for over 30 years. After retiring she and her husband moved to Ankeny.
Karen was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Des Moines.
She is survived by her husband Dale, 6 children, Tammy (Michael) Hott, Sue (Jim) Coggi, Duke (Hollie) McCargar, Dee-Dee (Rob) Davis, Kris (Dan) McCargar, Rob (Rene) McCargar, 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Dan Buck and Merle (Jean) Buck.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
