Leroy C. Mikeska, 75, of Temple, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013, in a Temple Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Temple Brethren Church with Barry Harper, Bill Smetana, and Rev. Tim Chaplin officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
Leroy was born in Temple, Texas, to the late Edwin C. Mikeska and Annie Schneider Mikeska. He graduated from Temple High School. Leroy served in the U.S. Air Force. On September 20, 1969, he married Joan Ragsdale. He worked as an inspector at Fort Hood having retired in 1988. Leroy then worked for Joan Mikeska Realty. He lived in Temple his entire life and was a member of Temple Brethren Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Miller; and daughter, Suzanne Dunning.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Mikeska, of Temple; son Jeffrey M. Mikeska, of Austin; brother, Don Mikeska, of Zabcikville; sister, Sharon Fletcher, of Temple; grandchildren, Logan Dunning, of Temple, and Alexus Dunning, of Belton.
