WINNFIELD — Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home here for Troy L. McMurry, 78, of Winnfield. The Rev. Ray Moore and Louis B. Skinner officiated.

Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery at Shreveport. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m.

Mr. McMurry died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday in Winnfield General Hospital after a brief illness.

A native of Winn Parish, Mr. McMurry was a retired baker with the Cottoa Bakery Co. He was a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Linnie McMurry of Winnfield; one daughter, Miss Beverly McMurry of Shreveport; one stepdaughter, Mrs. W. E. Anderson of San Diego, Calif.; three foster daughters, Mrs. Kees Dixon of Bossier City, Mrs. Beth Bearden of Barbos, Va., and Mrs. Lillian Fletcher of Virginia; four brothers, Arthur McMurry of Winnfield; Albert McMurry of Goodpine, Homer McMurry of Monroe and Elmo McMurry of Natchez, Miss.; four sisters, Mrs. O. W. Allen, Mrs. David Mixon and Mrs. Parker Long, all of Winnfield, and Mrs. F. C. Turner of Hallsville, Tex.; and 10 grandchildren.
