Mrs. Edna Ahreandts, 73, of 26 South Hancock Street died yesterday afternoon at 12:15 at General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she lived most of her life in the Heights section of the city. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and president of the Ladies Aid Society of the church. She was an active member of the Navy Mothers' Club and Heights Council of Republican Women.
Her husband, John, died in April, 1931. A son, Cmdr. Luther Ahrendts, was killed in 1959.
Surviving are children, Carl and Edna, with whom she resided; Mrs. John Mazanec. Leonia, N. J. and Mrs. David Griffths, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Mrs. Helen Golightly and Mrs. Elizabeth Perschau, both of Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Carl Gries, Dallas, and five grandchildren.
Funeral will be from the funeral home, 70 South Grant Street, Monday at 2 with Rev. Calvin E. Humbert, St. Mark's Church, officiating. Interment will be in Hollenback Cemetery.
